An Email from Kevin Eastman

(Posted: 03/18/2021)

I received a wonderful email from Kevin Eastman — of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fame — who provides the home for The Messenger. Kevin offered me this quote to share:

"I just wanted to let you know, every single day of my life The Messenger looks over me and protects me. It is the first thing I see when I walk into my studio, and I think of what an awesome artist, advocate, person you are - so inspiring. It has been a nearly a decade since you and this angel entered my life... just wanted to say Thank You - and let you know how important and special this painting is, and what it means to me."

Regan Russel Tribute

(Posted: 07/01/2020)

Regan Russel died giving comfort and water to terrified dehydrated young pigs at slaughterhouse at #TorontoPigSave. She was killed by the truck that was carrying them. This painting, #SavePigs4Regan, I did when I heard the tragic news. It will be used to raise funds and spread awareness for Repealing Bill 156--a recently passed Ag Gag law criminalizing ANY exposure or compassion given to pigs and other animals in factory farms or transport trucks on way to slaughterhouses.

Rare A.I.R. Artist-in-residence

(Posted: 05/02/2019)
Florida

Florida

This coming January I am excited to be a part of Adams State University’s Rare A.I.R. artist-in-residence program in Colorado. I was accepted to work on my State of the Union series, which at this point consists of my first painting Florida.

The project will eventually have paintings of all of the states with the positive images we associate with that state- state flag, state animal, slogan, and their attractions, and in bubbles, some of the shameful things that go on with the animals of that state.

I look forward to almost three weeks of uninterrupted painting in the provided studio space, with support and sharing with the faculty and students there.
